Matthew 6:25-34 (pew p 960 , Concordia p 1459)
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your
life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is
not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they? Matthew
6:25-26
For you created my inmost being, you knit me
together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm
139:13-14
The Lord is faithful to all his promises and
loving toward all he has made. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up
all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you and you give them their
food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every
living thing. Psalm 145: 13b-16
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6: 33
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this. Psalm 37:4-5
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41
So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?”
or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your
heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 31-33
